The Captian and Steward of Yes Life

Time brings work and wonder and rest
Striving with all your might for the best
Setting your treasure in heavenly relms
God will strengthen and Captian your helm
Once in seven days to relax
Rejuvenate, refresh, reflectt not tax
Your mind, body and spirit, instead remember
Respond to God as our Brother--be a member
With wise leaders for personal growth
Enjoying smart stewards--words from mouths
Acquianted with fun and thinking deep
Sharing skillful use of talents, what to keep
Knowing God will make plenteous
In managable goods and righteousness
So be sober and balanced, moderate in all things
More and still more good God brings
Safety, cleanliness, cool conversations
Looking great, sweet sleep, and smart preventions
Continuing education of the gifted and simple
Trusting God with talents and temple
Friends with family, mankind and Mother Earth
Give every moment what it's worth
Precious gold, pearls and stones
From rocky roads, being lost and alone
Oh claim the higher ground with planted feet
Soon and very soon to walk God's yes life streets
Hail to the Captian and the Chief
Get ready for the great life--just believe

Lisa Ling's Our America Gets the Story Straight on Gays

Just saw the 4 minute clip from Lisa Ling and the Minnesota Camp for young gay Christians on Oprah's OWN Network.  Got to say, I also believe God is love, and our greatest Loving Savior the Forever Single Man Jesus Christ loves people passionately--male and female, young and old, rich and poor, gay and straight.  When the Bible says we have the right to intimacy with our married eternal partner, "Thou shalt not commit adultry", this keeps life smart and simple with a covanent commitment lasting for eternity.  When the Bible says "Thou shalt not kill" I understand is means don't go out and kill in cold blooded murder.  If you make an accidental killing or kill in self defense, you could run to a city of refuge and still live.  God's loving kindness and longsuffering with us, with patience, mercy and grace understands we need same gender friends and opposite gender friends.  Our conscience is strong, as we pray for the Holy Spirit to guide us, helping us to avoid sin, and helping us to know when we indeed must repent from sin, giving us a way of escape from sin, and helping us to overcome when we have sinned.  Helps me enjoy life with men and women of all ages, as a sincere Christian, and staying sexually pure for over 50 years.

Same gender attractiveness and staying within acceptable boundaries can be different for different ages, people groups, situations, and individuals.  Best to be smart and safe with your most acceptable looks, love, touch and kindness.  Save any experimentation within massage therapy boundaries.  Save sex between you and your eternal partner, which God wisely and richly blesses when it is male and female with covenant commitments.  And I believe God wisely and richly blesses same gender two by two relationships for Hisglory and the powerful witness of His work, not to include sexual indulgence, or even the thought of such.

I've received plenty of grace, called on God for mercy from time to time, have a great community who in a strange, even shunning way, has guided me toward God's stable straight and narrow path.  I also understand and appreciate same gender relationships that work well, especially in the arts, and am deeply sad when long-term marriages are dissolved with too many divorces.

God is love.  And God's love lasts forever.  And forever love binds us all together whatever gender.

Quality Diverse Entertaining American Idol Season 10

In the most diverse quality entertaining American Idol season yet, I just can't get enough fast enough.  First, Fox, I get no sound through your website, so off to http://www.idolseason10.com/ I go for some post recorded live no commercial no comments satisfaction--sort of since they only feature 8 singers at this hour.

Once again, Pia Toscano sings "All By Myself" with style and class and I will listen to this over and over. However, she needs to change up her choreography/arm movements.

Thia Megia's "Smile" also has that same listen again appeal with a Nora Jones quality and has a hopeful, glowing effect on me.

Next must haves are Jacob Lusk and his "I Believe I Can Fly" sung J.L style--I believe, I believe!
And Mr. I Wanna Sing Like Scotty McCreery and "The River"--total packages of star potential.
James Durbin's "Maybe I'm Amazed" is in that category, along with Paul McDonald's "Come Pick Me Up".
Paul has the more mature voice and is my secret obsession--to have a smile like you, move like you, have spot on weight like you, if I just want to sing with you:-)!

Stefano Langone's "Lately" is a song I didn't know but it was a dancing dream song--say with J. Lo, Paula and Ellen, Stefano and Me.  Ashthon J. does the Diana Ross breakthrough sound and more so add her in.  Karen Rodriquez beams up Selena with a nice tribute.  Haley I still need to hear, so get with it Fox, idolseason10.com and youtube.

Finally,Casey Abrams odd, yet enchaniting "With A Little Help From My Friends" needed more back up sound and continued to be a fun entertainer, yet could be the singers odd man out.

At this hour, I think no one of the top 13 should be cut, and in two more weeks see who the top 10 are via phone, internet, youtube, and idolseason10 votes combined.

Long live American Idol Season 10!

One House One Spouse

Looking for love is a gleeful pursuit
When found, love makes life right
Love can make the past wrongs mute
And living the best with might

From Eden's perfect garden gate
To liberty's hopeful shores
God has in mind for us one mate
Life never more a bore

True love grows old whatever comes
With covenant commitment supreme
And when we all meet in heaven above
One house one spouse is what God means

So save yourself for God alone
And love everyone around
And when you've found your bone for bone
May beauty be in every sound

True love that stands the tests of time
Through every season of change
Trying to make each moment rhyme
Giving and giving again

Live for now and then it's gone
With or without your minutes of fame
Live for love for Dad and Mom and yours
A long life you will gain

So during the winter times of life
Then when winter turns to spring
Find again love rules over strife
And forever let love remain

Congrats to Zach and Kristina--URmyBIGidea for great TV too!

Welcome to FIRST TIME with your host Steve Davis

I really look forward to my FIRST TIME rolling around Berrien Springs and Michiana with you Zach.  Every time I watch and hear you, my whole being gets a belly laugh, and laughter medicine makes my pocket book thicker:-)

I really look forward to my FIRST TIME on your fearless cooking show Kristina.  I just did a pile and a half of dishes for The Renaissance International Restaurant from their successfully tasting Sunday Brunch and restaurant sales for yesterday.  What is your best dish soup?  How do you do dishes fast? I love great food and I want it fast and fearless.

I remember the FIRST TIME I held hands with a great lady friend--back seat of her Mom's car on the way to the Sierra Ski Ranch for snow skiing.

I remember the FIRST TIME I arrived at Andrews University  on a wing and a prayer for the potential of a huge career change from dentistry to multi-media/public relations.

I remember the FIRST TIME I went to a lawyer's office in Dowagiac, Michigan to sign on a land contract for the house my family and I still own--at 11 percent--which I had no idea how high and hard it would be to pay every time and pay off a balloon payment at the end, and the challenges of home upkeep on a shoe-string budget.

I remember the FIRST TIME I had a photo session with Karen Hopkins of Hopkins Studio of Berrien Springs, had my hair cut at Brit Salon, and enjoyed a grand neo-Renaissance feast at The Renaissance--an International Restaurant (The RR).

I hope my best life show gets the Mark Burnett talent crew and we can all make the world a better place one FIRST TIME after another.

Yours True,
Steve

Soiree Into the Land of 50

My big idea was to invite friends to the Renaissance International Restaurant of Berrien Springs for my 50th birthday party.  Each could bring a non-alcoholic drink to share--bottled or tea, plus a poem or song.  Instead I learned more about humility, respect, truthfulness and calm via a no-way-jose attitude at the last minute.  I still hope for more Brunch Lunch Buffet Soirees and will redue my house to make it happen.  Cheers!

Zach Anner Saves My Life

Let's just say my life has been devoid of laughter for too long.  The summer was too hot.  The autumn was too nice.  Too many cookies at Christmastime.  Finally Oprah's Your OWN Show brought me Zach Anner, and the laughter medicine has been flowing ever since.  Cabin fever?  No problem, just saw Zach at Keep Austin Weird Festival.  Turning 50 in a few days? No problem, just saw Zach in the Buff with his take on Niagra Falls.  Gasoline prices too high?  No problem, we should all enjoy motorized wheel chairs thanks to Zach.  Hope we can do some wheel chair shopping together soon.

Zach Anner Rolls Over the Competition on Oprah's Your OWN Show

Love Oprah.  Love laughing with Zach.  Zach Anner is a natural and an inspirational travel show host with one great chuckle after another.  All he needs is a regular show and guest travel partners and he becomes The Amazing Race on humor steriods.  Hope I can team up with you jolly good fellow.

Also on my best life list from Your OWN Show is Dr. Tony Roach.  His all American personal triumph story is a great testimony to diligence and education.

Alicia Taylor has what America needs to wise up for the next round of better investments.  Hope she has smart ways to change greed into giving, inspiring the haves to share with the have nots, helping to balance budgets from my meager pocket book to the politicians on the state and federal levels.

I will be happy to eat any kinda cobbler Aunt Flora makes.  She is a soul food sista.  Hope she blossoms into her best telegentic coolness.

Leigh Koechner could showcase the real Southern California style of family life and fun.

Kristina Kuzmic-Crocco could showcase beautiful food from a beautiful chef.

Eric Warner's all out enthusiasm has me wanting to check in with the chef when he weighs in.

Terey Summers has yet to show me what she can do.

Ryan O'Connor may be a better fit on the live stage than the recording studio.

Elizabeth Espinosa represents the trained and experienced professional, yet seems to be lacking that instantaneous likability.

Sunshine and Snow Shoveling

Everything is coming up sculptural due to a fine dumping of snow over the weekend.  Today the sunshine beams down on our winter wonderland.

I keep wondering about how to connect better with the haves of my community and help the gleefully, enjoyably help the have nots.  Nice to welcome back Neighbor to Neighbor into full operation after their fire recovery.

Continuing in the Neo-Renaissance style I am hoping to pick up the pace at The Renaissance International Restaurant and my Town Center Studio.  Here's to celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend 2011 style.

After an enjoyable 10 Days of Prayer at the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church with a great multi-disciplinary arts, I am in the right mode to celebrate in similar style.

Hope this sets a tone for supporting the arts first, after a greatful thank you to our Almighty God.

10 New Jobs in 10 Days

Thank God for His great creation, including the dead leaves in winter.  Cleaning up these plentiful piles has given me some work this week.  I also enjoy the other spectrum of God's creation--flower arranging, and have more roses and lilies to deliver.

I finally got to my recipe box and pulled some favorites--Bavarian Wiener Supper, Dinner Chowder, Borsh Soup, Pineapple-Nut Cookies and Florentine Manicotti--hope to prepare some of these dishes for my 50th birthday on Feb. 4 weekend at the Renaissance International Restaurant.

Also looking forward to singing with Cristina Piccardi "The Prayer" soon.

Adding some massage therapy, clutter busting, art installation, and nightly mixed media drawings for 10 Days of Prayer at Village Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Hoping for another rock garden project or two.

Here's to plenty of new work in the new year.

Somewhere Over In Job Land--10 New Jobs in 10 Days

I just listened to Taylor Mathews great remake of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and it got me right in the hopeful zone.  Let me just say to Taylor again, I hope you are the next John Denver and make some great albums and top 10-ers.

Let me just say music ASCAP 2011 and yes I do right songs and sing.

And I believe in music and the business of choosing our emotional state my the use of music.

Business these days in America?  That is in need of a great remake!  The best way I am testing is to try in 10 days to get 10 new jobs.  I live in small town midwest nice people place with world-class style Berrien Springs, Michigan.  I love my town and the people and the food and the churches and my same gender friends and my romantic memories of ladies in the past and the seniors who work harder and better than me.

What I don't like is that this is not the best place to find work without a car, phone, or pristine reputation of spot on diplomace.  This is a good place to do community clean up, and raking leaves, lawn mowing and gardening are our big businesses--far cry from Wall Street and Hollywood.

So far I have tried today, flowers to teachers to cheer on the new year, flowers to the bank across the street, a 2011 sculpture, removing leaves from the United Methodist Church door way, a re-arrangement of "The Prayer" and representing myself as a lawyer.  Next it's innovative signage and more "Journey to Heaven" art installation.  Recipes for a 50th birthday and the Advent Times newspaper to come.
